Fourth Week of school
We had lots of fun during our first inside recesses this past week.
In reading this past week we worked on main idea and details. We wrote personal narratives about our best friends by following a writing rubric for the first time. Some students even had time to post on their kidblog too. We worked on ordinal numbers, number lines, and review in math this week. We will be starting a new chapter next week. We learned about Monarch butterflies in Science and will continue to study them a little this next week too. We have a chrysalis and one was hanging as a J on Friday so I am sure we will have another one on Monday. Hopefully we will have our first butterfly next week.

Third Week of School
This week we talked about Beginning, Middle and End of a story. We worked on greater than, less than and equal to, for math. We also worked on number order with a number line. In science we have been talking about observing and recording information and the tools you need for testing things. We went out to the little ditch behind the school and looked for milkweed. We didn't find any Monarch caterpillars but did see a large wooly worm, a pretty bright green leopard frog, and a Monarch butterfly egg. We looked at some very tiny Monarch caterpillars that I brought in from home so the students will know what to look for this weekend. Hope you have good luck finding them. Happy Hunting!
